My mission is to provide individualized and holistic care offering: gyn and well body care, preconception and fertility services, insemination, full prenatal care, home birth, postpartum and newborn care through the first six weeks, lactation, herbal wellness consults (herbal CSA may be coming soon), private hypnobirthing childbirth education, aquadoula birth tub rental, and placenta encapsulation.
Every thing done in this practice is based on informed choice, we believe in birth and respect each person and pregnant person’s right to guide their own health care. Camilla Yrure is a Certified Professional Midwife with a commitment to family-centered care by offering supportive midwifery care to aid families in making the best choices about their pregnancy, birth, parenting, and healthcare.
Every family served is unique and treated with unconditional respect – we celebrate what makes your family special. Two-parent families, single-parent families, and families with co-parents helping out in original ways. Families having their first baby and families having their fifth. Queer families, trans or genderqueer parents, or poly families. Beautiful intergenerational families with additional grandparents. Babies at the Barre™

Babies at the Barre™ is a mommy and me style class that promotes community, support, and safe exercise for new moms while babywearing. We offer in person and online group classes so new moms from all over the country can socialize about the joys and struggles of new mommyhood while they safely exercise and bond with baby.

Balanced Birth Support

We are a group of birth doulas, postpartum doulas, lactation consultants, childbirth educators and placenta specialist committed to providing exceptional, professional, compassionate, unbiased and balanced support during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. The women working with Balanced Birth Support are trained, skilled, professionals who are prepared to support your family in every aspect of birth. We are friends, we enjoy one another and we love working together to benefit our community.
We have a huge passion for family centered birthing. Balanced Birth Support believes that the key to a positive experience during these life changing events is having the tools to make informed and educated decisions coupled with wonderful, excellent support. We collectively, pride ourselves on being supportive, empathetic and non-judgmental when it comes to working with families during their own journey towards and through parenthood.
As birth professionals serving Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland, we have experience and are very familiar and comfortable working with many different Obstetricians and Midwives and have attended births at the majority of local hospitals such as George Washington University Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, Virginia Hospital Center, Ft. Belvoir, INOVA Alexandria, INOVA Fairfax, INOVA Fair Oaks, Louden, Sibley, Prince William Hospital and many more. We also have experience with birth center births and are comfortable in home birth settings.

Birth Care & Women’s Health

BirthCare & Women’s Health Ltd. is a practice of certified nurse-midwives located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, who serve families desiring to birth outside of the hospital, either in their home or in our nationally accredited birth center. They attend home births in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia within a 40-mile radius of Washington, D.C. In addition to their birth services, they also work with women seeking personalized gynecologic care, and family planning.

Birthing Hands of DC

Claudia Booker of Birthing Hands of DC offers a full range of birthing care, home birth midwifery services (Va licensed) and related services to women preparing for birth and motherhood. Services include: birth doula, midwifery, midwife assistant, private childbirth preparation and education, breastfeeding education and support, Aquadoula tub rental, placenta encapsulation, and custom made herbal sitz baths. BHDC hosts workshops and trainings on topics of interest to expectant parents, new parents and the birthing community.

We are a small, holistic physical therapy and wellness practice specializing in Pelvic Floor Therapy and Myofascial Release Therapy. We are located in West End of downtown DC, just a 5-minute walk from the Foggy Bottom metro stop.

breastfeeding-centerInternational Board Certified Lactation Consultant Shelly established The Breastfeeding Center for Greater Washington.  Their mission is to advance breastfeeding and successful parenting throughout the DC metro area by providing free and low cost professional instruction to families in a supportive community space. Their services include expert-led free and low-cost classes, private consultations with Board Certified Lactation Consultants. They also offer a variety of other services including a breastfeeding boutique, off-site classes for low income populations, a nursing lounge and a milk depot.
