Nine years ago right now, I was preparing to launch the Arlington/Alexandria chapter of Holistic Moms Network. The group has met monthly since January 2009, hosting dozens of terrific speakers on topics relevant to health and wellness, parenting and natural living. This coming January, as the chapter celebrates its ninth anniversary, the group will convene a discussion reflecting on its past and envisioning its future.
The Environmental Health and Asthma Subcommittee (EHAS) of the Arlington Public Schools School Health Advisory Board is taking on several issues for 2017-18 and is seeking new members to join the committee and attend its December 6 meeting.

The National Press Club hosted an Interdisciplinary Summit on Children and Screen Time November 1 with several pediatric media experts who have been involved in the first-ever special supplement to the journal Pediatrics on the issue of children and screen time. The non-profit organization Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development convened the summit and sponsored the Pediatrics supplement.
